Faith Statements

About 13 years ago I met Jesus for the first time. I had spent a few years going to church prior to this meeting, but did not really believe in Him. Through an interesting growing period very early on God challenged me to speak/write out what it was I believed. Those who knew me then surely remember my letters and the interesting reactions that I got back? Just the other evening this list of "Faith Statements" came to mind and I found them tucked back in one of my files on a hard drive. I wanted to read them and see if they still hold true to me now. The Holy Ghost is pretty awesome!

Twelve Faith Statements

Jesus is not just the Son of God, but is God Himself, and our example of perfection as men. He is one with the Father, and one with the Holy Ghost. (Genesis 1:26, Psalm 22, 45, John 1, John 14:7-11, Romans 8:9-11, 1Timothy 3:16, 1John 1:1-3)

Jesus was killed on a cross for me and all who believe in Him. He is the way, the truth, and the life, and it is impossible to come to God except through Him. (John 3:16, Romans 10:9-13, John 14:6)

God chooses us, then we decide if we choose Him.  All that call on His name, confess Him as Lord, and believe in their HEART that God raised Jesus from the dead, can be born again, and be saved. (Luke 7:46-50, John 3, John 16:27, Ephesians 2:8-10, Hebrews 11, Acts 16:31, Acts 26:18,  Romans 1:16-17, Romans 10:9-13, James 2:18-22, 1Peter 2:9, Matthew 20:16, 1John 4:19)

It is the blood of Jesus that cleanses our sins and makes us right before God. (John 6:54, Romans 3:25, Ephesians 1:7, Hebrews 9:21-22, 1John 1:7, Revelation 1:5)

Jesus now sits at the right hand of the Father in Heaven, and the Holy Ghost dwells with, and in those who believe here on earth. (John 14:17-24, John 16:5-7, Acts 7:55)

Those who believe, are adopted as sons of God, granted authority over all things, and are to become like Jesus Himself. (Genesis 1:26-28, Matthew 10:1, Luke 6:40, John 14:12-14, John 16:12-15)

The Holy Ghost teaches us ALL things, brings to remembrance what God has told us, teaches us of things yet to come, searches the deep things of God and teaches them to us. (John 14:26, John 16:12-16, 1Corinthians 2:9-16, Acts 1:8)

The most important thing any believer can do is to love God above all things, with all their heart, all their mind, all their soul, and all their strength. (Matthew 22:36-40, Mark 12:30, Luke 10:2,7, Exodus 20:1-6)

We are to pursue love, and seek after spiritual gifts, especially that we may prophesy. (1Corinthians 12-14, 1Thessalonians 5:20)

Our battle is not against flesh and blood but against dark spiritual forces and Princes of Satan. (Ephesians 6:10-18, James 4:7, Genesis 3:14-15, Acts 2:14-22)

We are at all times to preach the gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven to all creatures, and nations, and there are signs that follow those who believe! (Mark 16, John 14:12-14, Luke 7:22, 1Thessalonians 5:16-20, Acts 2:17-21, John 20:20-23, 1Corinthians 9:14-16)

Jesus is the standard by which believers are to base all things.  The Holy Bible is a filter, written by the Holy Ghost through men to assist in keeping Gods “sons” in alignment with Him. It is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews4:12, Genesis to Revelation)
