Faith and the spirit world
Hebrews 11:1 is an awesome scripture because it defines what faith is. "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Or in the Amplifed Bible it is worded... "NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]."
Ultimately, our faith is the substantial evidence of our God and the things that to our eyes are invisible, but are as real as the air we breathe. We do not see the air we breathe, but without it we would sure notice something is wrong. The spirit world is very real! The Native American tribes of old knew the spirit world was real, as do many tribes still in existence worldwide. One of the best deceptions of our American society is the lack of belief or understanding of what is controlling the things around us in the spirit realm. John 4:24 "God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” Remember that Satan is also spirit and to battle him we must battle him in the spirit, by the Spirit!
To do this we must first BELIEVE that the spirit world even exists!!! How do we stand on the Word of a God that is Spirit if most don't even believe there is a spirit world? In addition to that, it's not just that we need to believe in a spirit world, but that there are two sides...God"s, and not God! It is black and white, either you are with Him or you are against Him!
